AARON VOLOJ DESSAUER, OF COUNSEL TO THE FIRM, IS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF LAW, TECHONOLOGY & INNOVATION AT FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW

Aaron is a professor at Florida State University College of Law, where he also serves as the inaugural Executive Director of the Institute of Law, Technology and Innovation. Aaron is not admitted in Florida, though he is admitted in New York.

A former legal advisor to the German mission to the United Nations and lecturer at Yale Law School and at the University of Münster in Germany, Aaron has considerable government and academic experience. A recipient of numerous awards, Aaron was the youngest university graduate in Germany, where he received his Ph.D. in philosophy at age 21.

A graduate of Yale Law School, Aaron began his legal career with the legendary Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, before working as an associate at Sullivan & Cromell LLP and Freshfields Bruckhaus Derriger LLP, two leading international law firms.

An expert in constitutional law, constitutional design, artificial intelligence, governance and ethics, Aaron is sought after to serve as a consultant, expert, moderator, and panelist in his areas of specialty. At Florida State University College of Law, he hosts the monthly Frontiers in the Law series, a CLE-eligible webinar on issues related to technology, cybersecurity, and information privacy.

REPRESENTATIONS

·         Represented international mining conglomerate for alleged violations of Foreign Corruption Practices Act.

·         Drafted a writ of coram nobis for Bulgarian businessman to vacate 25-year-old criminal conviction.

·         Represented hacker, accused of stealing and reselling 130 million credit card information, in the largest theft of credit card data in U.S. history.

·         Represented high-profile businessman to prevent broadcasting of trial in Clark County, Nevada

·         Represented a number of high-profile individuals in confidential defamation lawsuits.
